His present research interests cover diverse aspects of ocean/sea-ice reanalyses especially focused on the data assimilation sector. He is responsible for the CMCC C-GLORS system used to simulate the state of the ocean/sea-ice in the last decades. Andrea has been involved and coordinated several international research projects concerning mesoscale diagnostics, intercomparsion of reanalysis, data assimilation evolution. He is currently part of the OceanPredict Intercomparison and Validation task team.
