Gianandrea’s research focuses on evaluating and mitigating the environmental impacts of maritime transport. He leads the development of the open-source weather routing model VISIR-2 and works on topics such as the application of Digital Twins, Decision Support Systems, and data mining from observational datasets. He is also actively engaged in educational and outreach initiatives to advance ocean and climate literacy.
