Carmela holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture (2014) and a PhD in Architecture (2018) from the University of Naples “Federico II” (Italy). She joined the CMCC Foundation in September 2018 as part of the REgional Models and geo-Hydrological Impacts (REMHI) Division within the Institute for Climate Resilience (ICR). She currently leads the Built Environment Climate Adaptation and Resilience (BE-ADAPT) unit, where she focuses on urban microclimate simulation, the assessment of vulnerability and risk in the built environment, and the identification and evaluation of adaptation strategies to foster climate-resilient urban development.
